Japanese Brand: KATE
KATE is a Japanese makeup brand, launched in 1997, loved for its trendy shades, long-wearing formulas, and affordable prices.
I didn’t even know this lip product existed until I saw it in a few
videos during the Olive Young sale. People said it lasts pretty well, so I
decided to give it a try.
Originally, I meant to buy another shade, but I accidentally selected 03 Heat Haze. Oops!
The Lip Monster packaging looks quite old-fashioned, like a classic lipstick
design. The case looks so plain, and there is nothing to tell the shade. So
it could get confusing if you own more than one.
When applied, it doesn’t stand out too much, but it gives a natural look,
Pinterest-like vibe. It has a clear, sheer tone that builds up nicely with an
extra layer.
Texture & Application
It gives a light layer of moisture on the lips, not super hydrating, but not drying either. My lips don’t feel dehydrated even after some time, so I’m happy with it.
Longevity
The main reason I decided to buy this was for its long-lasting color. People said it lasts well for a balm-like product, and they were right. It lasted longer than I expected. There wasn’t much staining at first, but after some time, I did notice a very faint stain left behind.
Since Heat Haze is a lighter shade, the color doesn’t last as vividly as a tint, but it doesn’t disappear right away either. Overall, it holds a decent amount of color for a lip balm.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I’m satisfied with both the moisture and long-lasting color. It’s a lip product I’ll probably reach for often as a daily lip balm.Even though I accidentally picked a warm-toned shade, it turned out to be quite flattering and gives off a cozy, natural look. I think it’ll be perfect for this fall.
